About the Quilt Gallery

The Quilt Gallery represents leading textile and quilt artists working in New Zealand and Australia. The Gallery is a way for the artists involved to show their work to a wider audience.

Although the artists sometimes call themselves "quilters" they do not exclusively make quilts as most people imagine them. Most of the works in the Gallery are really works of art, designed to be hung or displayed.

The Gallery was started by Cheryl and Greg Comfort in 2003 as a way for artists in an online discussion group Tippy's Mob to present their work. It now features the work of a growing number of artists.

We plan to have exhibitions on display that are true "cyber" entities in that they do not exist in the physical world. Other exhibitions will support real-world displays held in New Zealand and Australia.

Works exhibited in the Gallery are for sale where indicated. Please contact the Curator if you want to know more.
